Start using Mendiola

Learn where work happens in Mendiola and how it connects your source files, team, and books in Juan.

In this guide

Mendiola helps an accounting firm follow work across its client companies. It brings source documents into a processing queue, follows their drafts in Juan, and gives the team places to review procedures and company work.

Juan is the accounting system connected to the company. Some screens and integration messages call it Jaz; these guides use the name on the relevant screen. A file reaching Juan is not the same as a transaction being approved there.

Before your first task

  1. Accept your invitation and finish setting up your account.
  2. Open Home and choose the company you are working on.
  3. Check the company name before uploading or sending anything.
  4. Open Files → Purchases or Files → Sales, depending on which side of the business the source belongs to.
  5. Open a file to inspect its result and any action it needs.

Members work on assigned companies. Admins also configure companies and manage the team. If your company is missing, ask an admin to check your assignment rather than adding a duplicate company.

Understand the two processing roads

For a PDF, image, or Google Doc, Mendiola passes the source document to Juan under the company's sending controls. Juan extracts and drafts the accounting transaction. Where configured, Mendiola first checks purchase paperwork against its BIR invoice rules.

For a supported spreadsheet summary, the workbook already contains transaction amounts. Mendiola checks those figures and resolves the required references. Unresolved rows are held for a person. Purchase workbooks and sales workbooks have different accounting requirements.

Find the wider firm tools

Return to Home for the firm workspace. Firm brain holds built-in guides and published procedures. This help center also describes Compliance, Exposure, Closing, and Global Contacts, with availability notices where a production release is not confirmed.

Start with one company and a small, understood set of files. Review resulting drafts in Juan before approval. Company settings decide whether eligible files can be sent automatically; an upload is capable of reaching real books when sending is enabled.

When something looks wrong

Keep the file's status and message, the company name, and the time of the attempt. Use processing troubleshooting to check the connection and current send state before repeating an action.
