Switch firms and keep work in the right place
Use the firm switcher and understand how companies, skills, and open forms follow the selected firm.
In this guide
A firm is the accounting practice you belong to. Client companies, assignments, private procedures, and learned layouts belong to that firm. Membership in one firm does not grant access to another.
Choose your firm
- Open the firm menu in the top bar and choose Switch firm.
- Select one of the firms you belong to.
- Wait for the new workspace to load.
- Check the selected firm and company before continuing.
Switching reloads the workspace so the previous firm's pages are not left in place. Other browser tabs are notified of the change too.
Forms opened before a switch
A form opened under the old firm may be refused after switching. Reload the destination in the intended firm and open a fresh form. The refusal prevents an action meant for one firm's workspace being applied after context changed.
What moves with the selection
Company lists, skills, company evidence, and learned spreadsheet layouts follow the selected firm. Firm-authored or imported skills stay private to that firm even when published. Only platform-published shared procedures are shared across firms; publication does not grant execution.
Getting access to another firm
Firms are invitation-only. An admin manages membership in their firm; platform provisioning creates a new firm and its initial admin. A new firm begins without another firm's companies or history. An email domain, signup attempt, or platform-owner role does not automatically grant company access.
If a firm is missing from your switcher, ask the relevant admin to check your membership. Do not create duplicate company records to bypass the missing firm.
